03:47 | Suites for a suffering world - Tanja Tetzlaff (Suites for a suffering world - Tanja Tetzlaff), Šveicarija, 2023 Suites for a suffering world Tanja Tetzlaff (cello) Johann Sebastian Bach 1685 - 1750 Cello Suite No.4 in E-flat major, BWV 1010 Cello Suite No.5 in C minor, BWV 1011 Thorsten Encke 1966 - Cracks, Clouds The German cellist Tanja Tetzlaff performs J.S. Bach's Cello Suites Nos. 4 and 5 amid natural surroundings devastated by climate change. Beauty confronts its own destruction. Do we really want to watch without lifting a finger? Melting glaciers, desertified landscapes, flooded communities: climate change is having an alarming impact even in Europe. What are we humans doing to this wonderful planet? Aghast at the depredation and destruction of our unique ecosystems, the renowned German cellist Tanja Tetzlaff wants to ask Nature for forgiveness. She travels with her instrument to places in Europe where climate change has already become reality and visibly dealt severe wounds. Surrounded by sometimes bizarre scenery, she performs Johann Sebastian Bach's Cello Suites Nos. 4 and 5, contrasting them with works specially composed for her by Thorsten Encke. She levels accusations, stokes resistance, and touches us with her virtuoso playing. The beauty of the music stands in sharp contrast to the often-dramatic images of damaged Nature, combatting the finality of destruction. A moving musical and visual plea for greater care and humility toward the beauty of our planet - at once ravishing and disturbing. 14:30 | Enrico Caruso - The Eternal Voice (Enrico Caruso - Die ewige Stimme), Miuziklas, Biografinis, Vokietija, 2021 Enrico Caruso - The Eternal Voice Enrico Caruso's life was as melodramatic as the plots of many of the operas he sang. His phenomenal tenor voice made him famous worldwide and he became the first superstar. The background to a hitherto little-known assassination attempt in Cuba sheds new light on the legendary voice of the century, which is now part of humanity's cultural heritage. Enrico Caruso is a phenomenon, produced by Italian opera at the end of the 19th century. And to this day it remains its greatest mystery. How was a child from a poor background able to celebrate such great successes at the Metropolitan Opera in New York? What is the basis of his myth? Directed by Norbert Buse |

She lives among humans and understands that animals are free, rather than slaves to the human race. A fantastic and entertaining bestiary appears on stage. The children's performance is superb. Who else could convey such freshness, such savagery and such an imaginary world? We are offered a glimpse of an enchanted and fantastical world where love and freedom reign supreme. This light-spirited, naïve and melancholy fable introduces us to the great theatre of life. With ineffable poetry, Janácek listens to and recreates the eternal Song of the Earth. . |

The concert leads us through the Alps, lets the audience pass flowering meadows en route, through thickets and underbrush, over mountain pastures and glaciers to the summit, and finally the descent surrounded by thunderstorms. Messner provides insights into the physical and psychological borderline experiences of his mountain ascents and speaks about extreme situations, the perception of nature, and his mental state on the night before departure, during the conquest of the peak, during the long, onerous descent and the exhausted, contented return home. |

09:16 | Rivalry in Music (Die großen Musikrivalen), Miuziklas, Biografinis, Vokietija, 2020 Rivalry in Music - Callas vs. Tebaldi Maria Callas and Renata Tebaldi were the two most famous sopranos of the second half of the last century. Turned into hostile enemies by their admirers, the two became untouchable goddesses of opera. For their fans, Callas was known as "the tigress", Tebaldi as "the voice of an angel": the two singers could hardly have been more different, whether in their professional or private lives. To this day, Callas remains perhaps the greatest soprano of all time. Her rival, Tebaldi, is best known to opera lovers. Why is the posthumous fame of the two prima donnas so different? 02:47 | Enrico Caruso - The Eternal Voice (Enrico Caruso - Die ewige Stimme), Miuziklas, Biografinis, Vokietija, 2021 Enrico Caruso - The Eternal Voice Enrico Caruso's life was as melodramatic as the plots of many of the operas he sang.

13:39 | Barenboim on Beethoven (Barenboim on Beethoven), Didžioji Britanija, 2020 Directed by Christopher Nupen 1970 was the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's birth and, to mark the occasion, Daniel Barenboim and Christopher Nupen collaborated on a thirteen-part series about the man and his music. Close friends at the time, Barenboim as artist and Nupen as filmmaker, were on the cusp of long and illustrious careers in music. Much of the material they shot has never been broadcast and, until recently, the footage had lain dormant for half a century. Now the series has been resurrected in its original form. It was recorded when Daniel Barenboim was in his late twenties, full of talent, charisma and early authority. During the episodes, he talks and plays extracts at the piano, illustrating the defining characteristics of Beethoven's compositions and sharing his personal insight into the composer's mindset. Throughout, he addresses the camera directly as presenter, adding to the intensity of the narrative. For orchestral pieces, he conducts the New Philharmonia Orchestra or plays at the piano with Sir Adrian Boult taking the conductor's baton. "Barenboim On Beethoven" is a musical journey charting Beethoven's progression in the context of his contemporaries such as Mozart and Haydn. Over twenty key compositions are performed and dissected, making this a unique body of work. |

After spending part of her childhood in the United States, she moved to France as a teenager where she joined her first jazz bands. An atypical artist, she performs a lot in the street while participating in festivals and creating her own albums. In 2004, she had an international success with Careless Love. Other albums have been released since, including the recent Anthem (2018), the title of which is taken from a Leonard Cohen song. |

21:30 | Rachmaninov revisited (Rachmaninov Revisited), Miuziklas, Biografinis, JAV, 2020 Rachmaninov revisited Celebrated in his day not only as a great composer, Sergei Rachmaninov was also admired as an outstanding pianist who was a peerless interpreter of his own works including the piano concerti and the Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini. It is well known that he was in effect the sole pianist capable of performing his most demanding Third Piano Concerto and his performances and recording of the concerto came to be considered as the definitive ones. The relationship between performance, interpretation, and Rachmaninov's own life is addressed in this film by young pianists. They explore the evolution of interpretation over the past few decades with brief excerpts of recordings by Rachmaninov as contrasted with contemporary performances by today's well-known young pianists as they comment on the differences (or similarities) of their approach. Directed by Peter Rosen |
